Introduction: Urban environments significantly influence human psychological comfort, with increasing evidence linking built environment stimuli to mental-emotional health outcomes. As cities grow denser and more complex, understanding how urban design affects psychological well-being has become a critical priority for sustainable urban development. This study aims to explore the determinants of psychological comfort—referred to here as “psycho-comfort”—in outdoor urban spaces. The ultimate goal is to inform the development of a comprehensive psycho-comfort metric, offering urban planners and designers a valuable framework for creating environments that foster both mental and physical well-being.
